Dulux has announced their colour of 2020 is ....drum roll please ..... Tranquil Dawn. A neutral green/grey colour to help us reconnect with being human .... 'the lack of human connection has made life poorer - and all the more chaotic,' explains Dulux.
Described by Dulux's Creative Director, Marianne Shillingford, as a colour with 'hazy pale green tones', Tranquil Dawn is both calming and comforting. 'When paired with neutral pastels and rich jewels it becomes incredibly powerful at creating spaces that encourage making better human connections,' says Marianne.
The 'Meaning' palette
Tranquil Dawn can be zoned into four colour palettes; to seek Meaning, to Care, to Play, and to encourage Creativity. Our particular favourite is the 'Meaning' palette with inky, cloudy blues - perfect for calm spaces like the bedroom and bathroom.

Tranquil Dawn can be seen on this panelled wall. The relaxed linen bedlinen completes this restful space.

This simple but beautiful bathroom shows how the green tones of Tranquil Dawn work in harmony with pastel and monochrome.
For a bit more oomph, look to the 'Play' palette inspired by sunny mornings and dreamy sunrises - hot coral, citrus yellow and baby blue feature here.

Dulux predict our homes will also feature horizontal lines to colour block a space or highlight a feature in our home. Here's an example of the horizontal line trend and 'Play' palette at work in a kid's room. The Citrus Zing and Tranquil Dawn look amazing together!

This living room also features the horizontal line trend, this time with Tranquil Dawn, Copper Blush and Citrus Zing.
On first sight Tranquil Dawn can seem a little underwhelming and a bit 'blah' but this colour is no shrinking violet. In fact it could be our new favourite!
